1. What is Crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new way to collect money for the realization of a certain project. The idea is that many individuals invest a small sum of money. All these investments together will finance the entire project. So crowdfunding is reaching your financial goal through many small contributions.

2. How to raise money online?

WCF makes it very easy for you to raise money for your special purpose. Honeymoon, charity and everything in between. Everything is possible! It’s easy to invite friends and family to make a donation for your important event, personal happening or for a charity project you feel very strongly about.

How does it work?

Register online on the WCF website, create your project in a few easy steps, share the link to your project page with as many friends as possible, use the various tools for online and offline promotion and start receiving donations.

For which purposes can I raise money?

Using the WCF platform, you can raise money for pretty much any idea, event, project or charity cause that your friends and family might believe in. Everything is possible! Just make sure you create an interest for your project with your public.

3. How can I accept donations?

On the WCF platform, all is included. Everything is arranged automatically. After registering, you can share the link to your project page with friends and family and other contacts. Your beneficiaries donate by using one of the available payment methods. Simple as that.

4. Where do the donors come from? And who are they?

In most cases, the bulk of the funding comes from the family, friends and fans of the project. If they find something nice / interesting, they will in turn continue to tell their family and friends and so on. Also press, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and WORLD OF CROWDFUNDING itself ensure that interested parties can easily find their way to the projects.

5. When will I receive the money?

Projects get their money collected at the end of their chosen period (deadline). Provided that all donation funds are effectively owned by WCF. Each donation goes to your project! Your WCF project page will continue to accept donations after exceeding the target amount chosen. This will hopefully give you 100% of the amount you aimed for, but it may as well end up at 140%. Conversely, the same applies. If you only each 60% of your goal, all funds collected are also for you.

6. How do I get the money?

When creating a project, you provide your bank account information. If the deadline of the project is finished, you will automatically receive the raised amount.

7. What makes a project successful? Tips for a successful project:

  1. Interesting project pages attract more attention and will count on more support. Shallow and incomplete pages will not do so well.
  2. Visualize: add a photo or a video and provide a detailed project description.
  3. Announce your WCF project page to the world! The more people hear about it, the more likely you will receive support. Larger range, more people interested, more funds! WCF provides numerous tools for helping you spread the word.
  4. Post regularly. 'Update Messages’ on your project page and keep your supporters informed about the progress. Communicate enthusiastically. Do this, for example, on Facebook and Twitter.
  5. Make it more attractive to donors by adding genuine rewards for donations.
  6. Be creative!

8. Why wouldn’t I start my own donation campaign, instead of using the WCF platform?

WCF combines several separate links (payment methods, contacts, tools, ...) into a single platform. This way it offers a fantastic overall concept for online donations.

WCF is more than just pay. It is a complete donation system that operates in full service to the users; helping raising money online. Personalized project pages, numerous efficient sharing tools, service and quality, ensure a greater chance of success.

For example:

If you want to sell your bike, you can do that by putting a sign "for sale" on it, park it on the sidewalk and you have the chance that 50 people see your bike, 5 stop to have a closer look and that eventually one person will buy it.

You can also sell that same bake by putting it for sale on a website for second hand goods. Now you have the chance that at least 500 people will see you advertisement and that 100 people will fully read your post and that more than one person will get interested in the bike, which will get you a better price for it.

That is why your project with WCF will have a greater chance of success: more range, more people interested, more success!

9. Will donor be charged a fee?

No fee is charged to the donors for their contribution to your project. The costs are automatically calculated and paid by the project owner.

10. What are the costs?

World of CrowdFunding charges 6% (VAT incl.) on all contributions. This percentage does not include any transaction costs. Transaction costs are determined by the different payment authorities and may vary. WCF has no say in these costs, nor does it profit in any way from these charges.

11. Is there a limit on the amount to raise?

No, there is no limit. WCF users can raise as much money as they want. Even if your goal is reached prematurely, you may continue to receive donations until the time your deadline expires. You can then have reached 100% of your desired amount to collect, but also 150%! At the end of the project (deadline) you will receive your money.

12. Can I raise money on Facebook & Twitter?

Yes! Of course. Being connected to Facebook & Twitter is a big part of WCF's success. And the best thing is that visitors to your project page (un) consciously help to share your project with their contacts. This course provides more range, more opportunities and is therefore more successful!

13. How do I know when someone made a donation for my project?

You can easily monitor all transactions and adjustments via your WCF account. Login to your account clicking the icon in the top right on the homepage.

14. Where can I find the contact details of my donors?

You can find the contact details of the donors in your WCF account. Login to your account clicking the icon in the top right on the homepage.

15. What about taxes?

Because every person’s situation is different, we cannot answer this question. In Belgium, where WCF holds office, most donations are classified as “personal gift” and are therefore not taxed. This differs in every country.

16. Which countries and currencies are supported by WCF?

WCF is beschikbaar voor de landen die ondersteund worden door onze betaalmogelijkheden. De betaalmogelijkheden zijn PayPal, creditcard, iDEAL, Mister Cash en bankoverschrijving.WCF is available for the countries supported by our payment options. The payment options are: PayPal, Credit Card, VISA, Mister Cash and bank transfer.

17. When will my project page appear in the search results?

Even though your project page is online and fully functional and ready to receive donations, directly after you’ve created your project, there will be some initial checks by the WCF team judging the accuracy of your project page before your project will actually appear in the search results.

To prevent unauthorized access and to protect donors, WCF asks the following requirements are met, before your page will appear in the search results:

  1. Your project page should contain at least one photo or video – preferably more.
  2. Your project page should have collected at least € 100 of online donations.

After complying with the above conditions (1 + 2), your project page will be monitored by the WCF team. It can then take up to 24 hours before your project page is accepted and approved.

NOTE: project pages that do not meet these conditions will still remain online and fully functional, but they will not be accessible to everyone, since they will not be included in the public search results. This means that in this case only people with a direct link can find your project page.

18. Does WORLD OF CROWDFUNDING screen projects before they are launched?

Yes. To ensure that the project does not conflict with the terms of use. The more extensive and clear you propose your project, the more you raise the interest of people. But mainly personal preferences and interests will determine whether people decide whether or not to finance a project.

19. Who is responsible for the effective realization of a project?

It remains the responsibility of the project owner to realize the project. WCF is not involved in the execution of the project itself.
